Our Mission

To fulfill the State of Colorado mandated obligations of the Clerk and Recorder of Mesa County by administering the Recording, Motor Vehicle, Clerk to the Board, and Elections divisions pursuant to the state statutes in order to serve the citizens of Mesa County and other governmental agencies in a professional and proficient manner while maintaining the integrity of this elected office.

Our customers are our primary focus. Meeting your needs with convenience, efficiency, and the professionalism you desire is our ultimate goal.

This office is responsible for:

• issuing and recording Marriage Licenses,
• recording all Real Estate transactions,
• issuing Liquor Licenses,
• registering Voters,
• conducting all Primary, General and County elections,
• operation of Motor Vehicle Divisions in Grand Junction, Fruita,
• Clifton, and Orchard Mesa, for titling and issuing license plates.

The office of the Clerk and Recorder is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to providing consumer friendly customer service. We strive to raise the bar being proactive with our processes. Our goals are to carry on Mesa County's leadership role in Colorado efforts to perform fair, accurate and lawful elections; work closely with state statutes and regulations, and manage the citizens' tax dollars effectively.
